Lots of snaps from Big Bang’s New York/New Jersey stop in their 2015-16 MADE world tour & a meet up with F of ASTROMANTIC and Rachna of Butterkoppu 💖
I always get the pre-concert jitters, but this time it was in overdrive because in addition to seeing Big Bang, I was going to get to see F in person!! I don’t remember how long we’ve known each other, but she’s been my blog-spiration for years and it was so exciting and nerve-wracking to meet. What if she thinks I’m uncool!!! Fortunately, she was so so nice and has the best fancy lady taste in bags!!!! She was so sweet and also very overwhelmed by New York I think HAHA. We chatted about everything over brunch at Kopitiam a counter-style Malaysian spot in Chinatown serving breakfast & light lunch treats.
We were feeling the lunch itch so we while we wanted to try the breakfast options, both of us ended up going for a hot cup of Penang white coffee and a bowl of Nasi Lemak – Coconut Rice with Egg, Cucumber & Anchovy with Homemade Sambal Sauce – which was SO savory and really hit the umami spot right where it hurt. I’m not a big coffee fan, but the white coffee was so good! It was very smooth & didn’t have the usual bitterness of coffee. The lady behind the counter mentioned that they were the only ones in the city that uses beans prepared the traditional way.
Later that day, F and I were joined by my friend E for dinner where we also meet up with Rachna & her friend for dinner! I can’t believe I don’t have any photos with Rachna (???!!!) She was in New York for Comic Con and it happened to coincide with the dates for the BB show. I wish I had more time to hang out & chat, but it was so nice to finally meet her!! She is such a talented artist, makes the cutest pouches and so sweet and lovely!! Please show her some love and support ^3^
And then onward we ran to the show! We were thrown off course momentarily after running into enormous lines at the ticketing kiosks, but we managed to find a few unnoticed machines, grabbed our tickets and hopped on the train over to the Prudential Center. Security was painless, and soon enough we were seated with this ridiculous view of the stage:
Uncropped! No zoom! It was electric in the venue and everyone was buzzing with excitement. There was a blizzard the last time Big Bang was here in 2012 which affected attendance at the show I went to, but the October weather was wonderful this time and Big Bang would get to perform for a full venue! And as soon as I finished tinkering around with my lightstick & jacket – the show started.
Big Bang put on a fantastic (baby) show! They performed a lot of their new songs and even though I was initially unimpressed during the course of the MADE release promotions, I was surprised when I realized I was jamming to them anyway. TRULY BIG BANG YG TRASH. I still wish they did a few more of the classics instead of repeating the MADE songs for the encore – THEY DIDN’T DO LIES!! I was so disappointment… I think all of us sat in our seats after the lights came on in disbelief :(
STILL!! It was so great to see Big Bang again – they’re the first Korean artist that I’ve seen twice in concert! All the members were so cool & handsome U^U In particular, our section saw a lot of Taeyang and Daesung who I think got 23904802938402834098 new fans bc of how playful he was with the crowd. Seungri, as expected, was the night’s hype man & everyone sang/screamed along to Strong Baby. GD and TOP have the MOST FANS and also were BEAUTIFUL AND HANDSOME. TOP did a lot of dancing and I did a lot of laughing. I also nearly lost my head screaming every time GD was near our section okay!! BB’s shows are so high energy and dance packed, it was really so much! I unfortunately lost the videos I took – didn’t realize they were stored in my SD card in a different folder – but I took fewer photos and videos so I could watch the show with my own eyes & that made it so much more enjoyable.
This might be the last time I get to see BB for a while (if the enlistment rumors have any weight) so I’m really thankful to have been able to attend. Also super thankful to F and E who got tickets with me!!! It wouldn’t have been the same without you guys!

March 22, 2016 at 11:59 PMOMG! The photos are amazing! I’ve never seen BB in concert, but this is exactly how I would imagine it. Your seats were great, too. It’s such a shame they didn’t perform Lies though. I’d be super bummed out about that.
