Happy Holidays! I hope you have all been warm & well this holiday season ♡ I wanted to stop by with a quick update before I try to start posting regularly again (did I ever?). Recently I made a decision about the direction that my professional life was taking and even though I wasn’t certain it was the right thing to do at the time, I’m at peace with that decision a month later. At the start of 2015, I told myself that this was going to be the year that I learn to be kind to myself and I tried to remind myself of this every time things got tough. I honestly didn’t do a very good job in the last few months, but ultimately I am very proud to have taken this step that I knew I had to in order to move forward. So here’s to a new year and a fresh start ✨ Wishing you all good health, love, and happiness in 2016.

I’m trying to work on my wardrobe but clothes cost so much $$$$. It’s always a toss up between getting a bunch of cheap things I can switch around or Investing in something of Quality that I can wear for a million years. It’s so much commitment nooo I’m leaving. Instead, let me spend my $$ on stuff like stationery and accessories lmao. I’m in love with my Piyo Simple Cash Book by LIVEWORK and the FolDouble Medium Pouch by invite.L.
March marked two special occasions for our family ♡ My brother’s 22nd birthday & my parents’ 25th wedding anniversary were just a day apart and we celebrated with dinner at Sentosa.

Malaysian fried noodles

It was delicious! Sentosa always has some great food. It was my first time trying bak kut teh and I think I’m in love because of that heavy herb taste. I don’t know how to say this without people going “HUH,” but I love when certain foods incorporate the taste of herbal medicine and this bak kut teh had it all. The taste of dang gui 當歸 was so strong; I was smitten. I was also crazy about the volcano spare ribs just because .. WHAT LMAO. The entire time I was just like “WHATS HAPPENING WHATS THIS WHAT WHAT” The staff held the packet up for me to photograph LMAOOOOOOOOOOO. Amazing :9

I spent most of March also just concentrating on work so hangouts were far and in between, but I got a chance to see Elias for his birthday (love you love you love you!!) and then rounded out this month with dinner with my college friends whom I’ve missed dearly. Seeing them always reminds me to have some faith in myself because they believe in me so much.

Dinner was Thai food at Qi in Times Square. Food was great and the restaurant was really atmospheric – I loved the decor although I was concerned with how dark the whole place was. My camera was FURIOUS and didn’t cooperate enough to get more photos :( But hey, the point was to enjoy each other’s company which I think we managed to do ♡

And that’s a wrap! Some goals for Q2 would be to work even harder, be kinder to myself and maybe buy said self a present like a new laptop :OOO or a new lens :OOO or a new handbag :OOOOOOO~~

1. I had lunch with Elias waaaaay back in August and we caught up over a ton of Korean food. I haven’t been very good about meeting up with friends and it had been a long time since we last saw each other, but as always, it was easy to pick up right where we left off. SCANDALOUS CONVERSATION FOR HOURS ♡

2. Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and it was a rather miserable experience.

3. I picked up swimming this summer!!! Or rather, resumed swimming after not doing so regularly since I was in high school. It was exhausting the first two weeks and I could barely do a lap without wanting to keel over, but it became a lot easier the more I did it (like all things right?). It’s taking a lot of self-motivation and determination to continue with it since I go in at 6AM and it’s really a struggle keeping myself from crawling back into bed. I fell back into bad habits this month when the pool was closed for cleaning, and I could feel my health getting weird so I really have to push through with starting again this week now that the pool has re-opened. It’s going to be such a test when winter rolls around. Check this membership out! Full access to all the rec centers in NYC for $25 if you’re 18 – 24 years of age. It’s a great opportunity and so much cheaper than a gym membership.

4. Working on my eyebrows, working on my hair. I’m trying to get over the heebie jeebies that plucking gives me so it’s a slow journey, but it’s happening!! I also officially gave up on heat styling and trying to learn how to manage/love/baby my natural hair.

5. Job apps. haha. sigh.

6. Read more books, watched more movies, listened to more music (‘High Society’ – summer mix & “It’s you, entire” – part 1 of a series of songs about love)
